As with all "updates" of any software, there's always the possibility of
something else breaking.
I don't have/know Vista (98SE, XP, Win7) or this "tamper mode", but had
the Avast Sandbox screw up horribly a few weeks ago after an update (XP
box). It would kick in on stuff that shouldn't have triggered it, and
wouldn't allow any choices in the dialog box.
Did the same remove/reinstall/update trick, now all fine.
It's just "the way things are" with pooters. M$ OSes seem to be the
worst on this , but the same crap has existed on all platforms and OSes
since the punch card and patch bay days.
