Does anyone know if there is a way to keep Avast from checking certain
programs that you are sure don't contain viruses? When I open any
program it checks and slows the load time considerably in some cases. I
would like to be able to tell it not to check certain programs.
Thanks

THat would be an incredibly stupid thing to do as many viruses infect
executables when they're opened so its likely to be the programs you
use that get infected.

He's trying to keep the mosquitos out of his house, closes all the windows and doors, but wants to leave open a few doors because, of course, no mosquitos are coming through those doors, right? He'll learn when he wakes up and has bites all over him. Just be sure to not go camping with him when he visits bear country as he'll figure it's okay to leave the food in the tent simply because he hasn't seen a bear yet ("Wha...? Oh no, go AWAY, ARGGGH, eeeeee!", continued swallow and chew sounds, sated bear waddles off, and another entry for the Darwin Awards web site.)
