I never use the Internet Shield in Avast...it's just way too slow. The
Standard Shield is the only provider that I run. It's that sensitive that it picks up anything untoward that ends up in temp folders whilst browsing. -- Jane, not plain  64bit enabled Batteries not included. Braincell on vacation. Not even that will run on X64 Beta 2, just FYI.

Silly question but......you did remember to add the providers during or
after setup? First time I installed Avast I forgot to add the providers -- Jane, not plain 64bit enabled Batteries not included. Braincell on vacation. Update: I found my answer in the Windows Vista Security Public Newsgroup:
There is no Anti-Virus Software that will Actively Monitor X64 Beta 2 at this time, just FYI.
