AV8 is an Abit board. Since that board only has two SATA ports,
that cannot be it.

The A8V Deluxe has VT8237 Southbridge (two SATA ports labelled
SATA1 and SATA2). It also has a Promise 20378, with two SATA
ports labelled SATA_RAID1 and SATA_RAID2.

If you go to the BIOS (section 4.4.3 in the user manual),
there are two settings:

Onboard Promise Controller [Enabled]
Operating Mode [IDE]

When set to IDE, you can use the "ATA" driver, instead of
the "RAID" driver for the Promise 20378. I don't own any
SATA drives here, so haven't tested the Promise chip with
them. The disks should work separately, as far as I know.

HTH,
Paul
