Every time add a new autotext entry it vanishes when I reopen Outlook. I'm
using Outlook 2003 with Word as my editor.

Did you check the autotext entries list or how do you know it vanished?

I add it to the list and it works in the current session. When I restart, the
entry I added is gone. Peculiarly signatures are still stored - it appears to
only affect autotext. This is a completely consistent problem.

hmm ... this seems very strange!
i guess you know that autotext entries are supposed to be saved in a
template. Usually the normal.dot file but you can save them in customized
templates aswell.µ
I'd suggest entering the autotexts in Word 2003 directly and make sure the
normal.dot file is saved. Access outlook afterwards and see if it all works.
The Autotext should remain usable for any outlook session then. Hopefully...

It is. I tried your suggestion, but it doesn't seem to make any difference.
As soon as I close Outlook and open it again the Autotext entry in "Normal"
is gone. It is not appearing in Word either.
