My AUTORUN.INF file is not working - the CD just opens in explorer showing
files. Also the icon isn't displayed.

Try Power Toy's Tweak UI from Microsoft:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/d...powertoys.mspx
Install, run and under My Computer/Auto Play/Drives you will find check
boxes to enable/disable Autoplay.

How to Enable or Disable Automatically Running CD-ROMs
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/155217

If non of the above fix the problem, then there is the 'Autoplay Repair
Wizard'
"The Microsoft AutoPlay Repair Wizard scans your computer devices to find
defective AutoPlay settings, and attempts to fix those it finds."

I have a different computer that I have tried the following fix but there is
no Auto Play under my computer after installing tweak ui. Found it under
Power Toys instead.

The wizard found problems with legacy and V2 but couldn't fix them.

Hi the same kind of problem i m facing.
I have autorun.inf file in my DVD, but its working on win 2003 but not on win XP. To avoid this problem you can use autofix.exe software which will search for the problem in your drive and fix the problem..
