Hi, My PC just crashed (that's another problem) and when it restarted I
opened word to find my recovered document. It was but even though i have
autorecover set to 1 minute it showed me a recovered document from 40 minutes
of work that was still the original.

Does anyone have any solutions for why my autorecover is not working?

Thanks

Autorecover is not foolproof (though it is better on Word 2003 than earlier
versions). Autorecover set to a minute is probably too short a gap to
trigger (which it probably won't do if you are typing at the time). Set it
to 10 minutes (and set the option to automatically create a backup), and get
into the habit of pressing CTRL+S every time you pause for thought. If this
is too onerous - see http://www.gmayor.com/automatically_backup.htm
