I have a table with 5000 records and one field has to have the same
information added to every record. How can I do that quickly? I tried to
select the column and paste but that does not work.

Do an update query. Add your table to the query, pull down the field you
need and on the Update To row, add the data needed.

Sounds like you should not be doing that! If the data is the same for
every record, you should not be saving it to a table. This is not a spread
sheet. Access is a database.
