Autoplay is not working for CDs / Cameras and other external devices.

All devices will initiate autoplay actions if you right click on device in
explorer and select autoplay but windows will not initiate this action
automatically when cd inserted or camera connected.

Have tried the following:
All settings / ideas identified in following article have been checked and
are correct
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/330135/en-us

Have downloaded and run the autoplay repair wizard and tested on DVD drive
and camera. Both reported similar problem with no apparent fix. Extract
from logs:

AutoFix [V5.2.3790.67]

Result [Legacy Notification]: OK
Result [AutoPlay V2 Notification]: Problems {

Step: No steps to take.
Result: This AutoPlay setting cannot be fixed. Either the device is
malfunctioning, or the wizard cannot determine the problem.

>> Required action: The wizard found problems but cannot fix them -> None

Running out of ideas so any assistance appreciated.

Regards

Ian

I had that problem for years. I had tried everything.

After installing SP3 autoplay works perfectly.

You could install it again if it's already installed.
