Autoplay malfunctioning?

When I insert a CF card containing 400mb of photos into an external USB card
reader, the autoplay window pops up and I choose 'open folder' . Upon
choosing this, a window opens up and starts to display all the images.

However, before all the images are displayed, the window shuts down and I
get the Autoplay window pop up again.

This happens more often than not.

To stop this behaviour, I have found that if I go into 'My computer' and
click on the drive with the CF card, and select 'Autoplay', all the images
are displayed without the window shutting down.

There appears to be a problem with the automatic 'autoplay' function. Can
this be fixed?
thanks

Sounds more like something may be wrong with your card reader/chipset
driver/driver for your card reader. ;-)

I definitely turn off autoplay, anyway.

You might be able to fix this with Microsoft's Autofix:

hi

thanks for the advice - unfortunately Autofix appeared to identify a problem
but could not fix it.
