Hi coder,

Like I said in my initial post, "Autofix.exe found errors but was unable to
fix them".
Thanks anyway.

Thanks Ramesh,

Tool sounds great. I will check it out.
I cannot derive from the site, can it repair (= restore) handlers back to
default ?

Kind regards,
John7

Hi,

On a customers PC Autoplay got corrupted.
When inserting a CD/DVD, it will not autoplay although enabled.
Also, options to autoplay depending on content are missing (select players
to launch)
Autofix.exe found errors but was "unable to repair".

Any suggestions ?

Kind regards,
John7

Seems like you miss handlers here, try this:

Click Start/Run and type these commands to restore missing handlers:

regsvr32 /i shell32.dll
regsvr32 actxprxy

N1K,

Thanks for responding. I will try your solution.

Btw, what is the difference between:
regsvr32 /i shell32.dll
regsvr32 shell32.dll

TIA,
John7

To view the options for regsvr32, just run regsvr32 with no parameters.

/i switch calls DLL install passing it an optional [cmdline].
You can try without that switch too :-)
