Messages on the 'conficker' virus cirulating tell me to disable Windows
'autoplay' and 'autorun'.

Can anyone point me toward a tutorial on where to find them?

Thanks for any assistance.

Get Microsoft's own TweakUI utility and use it to disable auto-play.
You can use it to disable auto-play only on specific drive letters or
have it disable it altogether (but can still differentiate between
CD/DVD drives and/or removable drives).

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/D...powertoys.mspx

This version is for 32-bit Windows. Some of its settings don't work
under 64-bit versions of Windows (I heard there is a 64-bit version but
was someone's personal hack because Microsoft didn't come out with one).
You never mentioned WHICH version of Windows XP that you use.
