I have created a custom form as a Contact form. This form has numerous
attachments. When I updated one of the attached files on the server, and
then opened the custom form, it did not pick up the updated attachment. It
was somehow still attaching the older version of the file. I fixed that by
deleting the attachment and attaching the new version, then publishing the
form again. Can I set the form up to automatically pick up the latest
version of the attachment, without needing to republish the form each time.

The item has no way of knowing that there is a newer version of the file.
Once you attach it, it keeps no record of its original location. A link to
the file might be better in this situation.

thanks...I'm new at publishing forms, so I'll need to find out how to link a
file instead of attaching it.

Best method is to add a hyperlink to the body.
