Hi Michael,
Thank you for the help. The link you provided had a number of solutions
requiring that I buy software. However, the Microsoft "Help and Support"
site had a free solution that was already part of the PowerPoint software.
The line in their discussion that provided the solution for me was:
5. To specify the presentations that you want to include and to specify the
play order, do any of the following: • To add more presentations or other
files that are not included automatically, click Add Files. Select the files
that you want to add, and then click Add.
The link to this page is as follows:
http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;821552
The only question I have is why was I not able to find this in the online
support for PowerPoint? "Help" capabilities for Powerpoint appears to be
very lacking, given that I couldn't find this solution and had to go to an
online discussion group for an answer. Adding multiple Presentations to a
project has got to be a common requirement in order to handle one of anything
but a very minimal size. No one should ever find it necessary to pay for a
3rd party solution when the answer lies within the software itself.
For example, I use Autodesk software regularly. They have a similar
solution called Xrefs. This is very well explained within their
documentation, and a simple Help search will yield the details on how to use
them. Xrefs can also be imbedded or just linked, as in PowerPoint. In order
to do what I require I have to imbed different types of files so they will
become part of a project saved to disk.
Again, thank you for your help. Sorry it has taken a while to respond.
Best regards,
Wally
