I have Office 2003 and want to know if it is possible to open a message and
then, say, delete that message and have the next one open automatically? I
swear i was able to do this in Outlook 2002, but now I can no longer do so.
Was I dreaming?

I found it - it was staring me in the face.

Go to tools-options-email options then the first line is: "After moving or
deleting an open item" then select your choice from the drop down arrow....

You aren't dreaming. It's a setting in tools options - email options
button - very top, after moving or deleting... chose the action you prefer.
