Automatically number workbooks

Does anyone know how I can get Excel XP to automatically number each new
workbook I create, but continue the numbering even when Excel is closed
(which would normally restart the numbering seq) ??

Ideally I would like a filename - Report 1, Report 2, Report 3 etc and a new
number for each new report.
