Outlook 2000 has taken to deleting messages from my inbox when I reply to
them. They don't even go into the deleted items folder, they disappear
completely.
This doesn't sem to be an option you can select even if you want it. I have
no message rules set up which should cause this.
Any idea how I can stop it?

Thanks

Gary

Is the folder size indicating that they get deleted as well?
Could it be that you have a filter set?
Reset your current view and see if they show up now.

This is wierd. If I change from View - Messages, to View - Messages with
Preview they reappear. But go back to View - Messages and they're gone
again. Is the some way to reset to defaults?

View>Current View>Customize Current View>Reset should reset it.

OK, tell me what you see when you click View>Current View>Customize Current
View.

I see a box called View Summary with six boxes to click on. The boxes are
Fields, Group By, Sort, Filter, Other settings, and Automatic Formatting.
Each box gives arange of other options, but none look very helpful and none
are to reset.

Thanks

I also have "Automatic Formatting" and "Reset Current View". Apparently
Outlook 2000 doesn't have that. How about View>Current View>Define Views?
Do you have that?

I have that - it produces a box which looks like a spreadsheet with a number
of headings and rows, and 5 buttons on the right hand side. Highlighting the
message row, and clicking on the reset option originally gave a message
saying something like - settings are defective, default settings will be
used. Trying again, the reset option is greyed out suggesting it is already
reset - and it seems to work. Messages I have replied to have now
reappeared - thanks,

Gary
