How do I automatically have the junk e-mail folder empty every XX days? I
tried to auto archive every 7 days,but that does not seem to work.

have you add autoarchive to junk mail folder too, not only activated this
whole feature from Tools - Options - Other?
Select Junk mail folder -> File - Folder - Properties - Autoarchive

Hi,
In addition to Paul's answer, check " clean items older than 1 week"
and "permanently delete old items".

I have previously checked the "auto archive" folder; I have checked the auto
archive after (filled in) 7 days. And, I also checked the "permanently delete
old items" box. I am still having problems.
