automatically complete email addresses when composing

I have checked "automatically complete email addresses when composing" in
Tools, Options, Send. However, it doesn't always work. It would save me a
lot of time if it worked (like Outlook Express).

Does anyone know how to get it to work ALL THE TIME?

I'm having the exact same problem. Sometimes it completes it automatically
as I type the first few letters, sometimes I have to type the whole name in
and then when I hit Enter the entire address completes itself, and sometimes
is doesn't do the auto complete at all. No apparent rhyme or reason as to
why it does one or the other.

Nothing to fix.
Windows Mail only remembers the last 29 addresses that came up on your
computer, not your entire contact list.
For those that don't belong the " the last 29 ", you'll have to click TO to
find the name/address.
Windows Live Mail does remember the whole list.
To down load Windows Live Mail : http://download.live.com

Windows Live Mail auto-completes from the complete list of your
contacts. Windows Mail won't. You are welcome to upgrade to
Windows Live Mail: http://download.live.com/wlmail

The auto-complete in Windows Mail just doesn't work correctly.
It keeps a separate list of the last 29 addresses you've typed in, including
bad ones. This list is kept in the registry (in binary).
Just click on the To: button, and select your recipient.

This is one of the features that works properly in the newer Windows Live
Mail.

Hey Dave, How do you delete the "bad ones" from the autocomplete list?

See the following links, the first describes manual deletion, the second
provides a tool to do it for you.
