FU2: microsoft.public.windowsupdate

Hello,

I'm experiencing a problem with Windows Updates on a freshly
reinstalled Windows XP (with SP2 slipstreamed).

All post SP2 automatic updates went fine (90+ were installed, including
IE7), plus a couple I downloaded from WU web site, until yesterday
where the yellow shield informed me that 2 new updates were pending :
KB933579 and KB931906.

Few minutes after launching these updates, I noted that I had not
received the usual message informing that the updates were completed.

Double clicking on the yellow shield showed that the update process was
still "initializing". I cancelled the installation and rebooted - the
same happened when the yellow shield showed up.

I also tried to install the updates one at a time (I tried both) at no
avail.

Any idea ?

Thanks.
