When I double-click "Automatic Updates" in the Control Panel, the "Automatic Updates" window says "The Windows Update Service is unavailable" & all the options are disabled! How do I enable "Automatic Updates"?

Please note that I am working on Win2K Pro.

Thanks,

Arpan

Were you able to perform updates previously?
Are you logged in as 'administrator'?
If yes: Check you system for virusses, spyware, addware etc..
If not: run , or even install the automatic updates services
Check if the services are installed:
start/run/services.msc/OK

Success

Also make sure BITS Service is set to start automatically.
