Automatic wakeup from hibernate

I frequently put my machine into the hibernate state in the evening so I
have a quick start in the morning. I now find that all of a sudden, my
machine wakes up automatically. The event log tells me that this occurs at
2am.

I checked and can confirm that there are no apps listed in Start|All
Programs|Accessories|System Tools|Scheduled Tasks.

Surely, there is a way to stop this from happening?

Any help is hugely appreciated!
Pete

I doubt that it is a regular power failure, so the likely reason is a BIOS
setting to wake on a timer.

bios setup access keys. Go to:

Thanks Mark,

I checked the BIOS. I found a setting under Power to enable/disable timer
wake-up if system is powered off, but this was already disabled. Also please
not that I did NOT change the BIOS settings over the past few weeks. Further
more, I have one other machine that has the same problem.

Just now I checked my network card and found that in the advanced tab it
showed "Wake On Settings" as OS controlled. I now changed this to Disabled.

Could that be it?
Pete

It can only be the BIOS, since the 'hibernate' feature turns off everything
else.

Reset 'wake on LAN' in BIOS.
