I have set the Automatic Updates feature to "notify me but don't
automatically download or install them". Well, a few minutes ago I
shut down my PC and before it turned off, it automatically installed
two updates! I didn't receive any notification, until after the fact
("2/2 updates installed").
Why did this happen and is there a way to disable such behavior? What
if I turn off automatic updates completely? I hesitate to do that,
since I do want to know when there's something new out.
Also, what's the point of update KB892130? I have a legal copy of
WinXP, it's registered, so why install yet another tool that checks
whether it's valid? Especially one that cannot be removed after
installation (I hate not been able to uninstall things).
