Hello,
I set automatic Windows updates for Fridays 11 pm few days ago (new
computer).
Today is Thursday, and different time and I have automatic update icon
sitting in my systray wanting me to install updates.
Computer clock is set correctly.
Any thoughts?
Jack

Try to double click it and see what hanging there and let us know your
finding!.
It could be an update failed or need some attention or extra tuning up!.

I have already deleted it, but I remember there were 2 updates:
1. GUID Tools?
2. OfficeXP update ==> this one absolutely I do not need.
I have Office 2007 installed, but because it does not come with Front Page
I installed FP 2002 using my old Office XP disk.

Can you try to Restore the system to an earlier date please and then select
custom for the Updates and uncheck the updates you don't need!.

I did that already (uncheck the updates I don't need).
But main question is why updates are not following the setup ????

Define "few days ago"; was it prior to a Friday? Or have NO Fridays passed
since you set it up? [Check the "Start" date for Automatic Updates in Task
Scheduler.]
