If you chose to have automatic updates do everything automatically it
seems to want a time of day for it to be done. What happens if you are
on dialup and do not get online at a regular time each day? I've
currently got mine set to download but ask me before installing.

Also, what happens if you disconnect while updates are downloading? Will
they resume downloading where they left off or will they start all over
again?

Thanks for your time.

The time you set only has to do with when the updates will be automatically
installed. This is because many of the updates require a reboot, so you
don't want your PC automatically rebooting while you are in the middle of
work. If you leave your PC on 24/7, then scheduling the updates to install
in the middle of when you are sleeping is a good approach. They will be
downloaded when they become available while the computer is connected to
the Internet.

They will resume downloading from where they left off.
