Hi,
As Defender now uses Windows update I guess this applies to Vista as well.
Can we please have a feature option for the automatic updater for both
Windows and Defender to be inactive whilst there are any other programs
running on the pc (other than security suites).
The reason I'm requesting this is as an online gamer, any update checks that
occur cause big lag problems for me in game as do the pop up reminders which
also cause lag. (I currently have mine set to check but not to download).
As quite a high percentage of PC users also game, it seems sensible to have
an option that only runs automatic update checks when there are no additional
programs running on the pc beyond those loaded at start up.
The only real current option to guarantee no interference is to disable
automatic update checks completely which of course carries hazards should you
forget to manually check for updates.
As for reminders, if reminders are necessary because defiinitions or scans
are out of date, couldn't these be set to only pop up immediately after boot
and only once per session so they only appear before you start to work with
Windows and run programs?
That way they don't interfere with activities either but still server their
purpose.
Al.
