I Can't turn on automatic update on my windows XP home edition computer. When
I try I keep getting Error 1058. Can anyone tell me what settings I need to
check and how to access them to enable me to turn on windows automatic update?

See if this helps: "You cannot manually start the Automatic Updates
service and you receive an "Error 1058" error message on a computer

i have the same problem as tim, and the link thorsten gave i had already
tried, along with two others on the help site, none help or change anything.
someone please help
