Automatic shortcuts created with shared drives, how to stop?

I have 7 computers networked.....All with win2K(SP4 & on), my master
account set up on each one for easy access, all have admin rights, all
are shared whole drives not folders.........

Only one machine I access the shared drives on creates a shortcut
automatically in "My Network Places" on this machine only. When I access
the other machines shared drives from my other 6 computers it does not
create a shortcut........How can I stop this?

I don't like the shortcuts(have to keep deleting them) and only like to
access the shared drives through each computer listed in "Computers Near
Me"
