I have just switched to Outlook 2007 from Outlook 2003. As per all previous
messages I have read on this forum and on the Outlook Help website - I have
Send/Receive set to receive at 10 minutes both online and offline and still
does not work automatically. The only way they come through is if i hit the
Send/Receive button. Is there anything else you can suggest?

You need to provide more information. What mail transports are you using?
How did you "switch?" If you attempted an upgrade installation, nothing will
work as it should until you create a new Outlook profile.

Using Exchange maybe? Or POP3?

Please advise what you mean by mail transports?
I got a new computer and it had Office 2007 pre-installed.

Just to make sure, besides setting the 10-minute interval for mail
polls, is that option to schedule automatic send/receive mail polls
actually enabled?

What plugs-in have you installed in Outlook? In OL2002, the menu
navigation would be Tools -> Options -> Advanced -> COM plug-ins or
Add-Ons. Navigation may differ in later versions of Outlook. Could
be you have installed one that is interfering with the automatic
polling by Outlook.

You might want to enable the troubleshooting logging in Outlook. Set
the polling interval to, say, 2 minutes. When started, Outlook should
perform a mail poll at the zeroeth interval (i.e., right after Outlook
loads fully) and then every N minutes. See if there are messages in
the logfile showing that Outlook attempted to do any mail polls
automatically.

What happens when you disable e-mail scanning in your anti-virus
program?

Outlook 2007 is never "pre-installed." How did you set up your mail accounts
in Outlook and what type of accounts are they?

Often it is, if you order Office when you buy the PC.
