I set the automatic scan to 2AM on Wednesday. It worked fine. However, I
installed a lot of programs Wednesday afternoon. I reflected and changed my
mind about 2AM and set the automatic scan to 11PM Wednesday. 11PM came and
no scan. It seems that WD will auto scan once a day in spite of changing the
schedule. Is this right or wrong?

This is wrong, but what you saw was a bug, I believe.

It appears that when you re-schedule a scan, as you did, the new scan is
scheduled for the following day--that's a bug. Today, the scan should
happen at 11 PM.
