Hi,

When I run netplwiz, I don't have "Users must enter a username and password
to use this computer" checkbox anymore!

I think there is a security policy that hides the checkbox. What conditions
makes that checkbox invisible?

How can I have "Users must enter a username and password to use this
computer" option back?

Any help would be appreciated,
Max

Is your computer a domain member? That checkbox is only available in
stand-alone installations.

If your computer is set up to log on someone automatically you can change it
directly in the registry by changing some values in the registry at
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon

Set AutoAdminLogon to 0
Delete the DefaultPassword value

Thank you Jesper for help.

My computer is member of domain, but I am logged in as local admin.

Even local users cannot use that feature?

Thank you again.
Max

Yes you can use the feature on any computer, domain-joined or not. However,
you have to use the registry to configure it on a domain-joined computer.
