I'm using Outlook 2003. When I used an older version, I could type in a few
letters of a name (or email address) in the To textbox, and Outlook would
fill supply the email address and display the name underlined.
I cannot seem to find how to do that in Outlook 2003. Can it be done, and
how can I configure Outlook to do that?

Tools>Options>E-mail Options>Advanced E-mail Options. Check the "Suggest
names while completing..." box.

The "Suggest Names while..." box is checked (has been all along) but it's
still not working. Perhaps I should supply more info:
I'm using the Contacts folder as the Outlook Address Book. (I clicked on the
Contacts item in the Folder List, then selected Properties, Clicked on
Outlook Address Book, and clicked on Show this folder as an e-mail Address
Book. I have several sub-folders under Contacts, which I have set up in the
same way. (In field, "Name of the Address Box", for each Contact
sub-folder, I use the same name, e.g., if the name of the subfolder is
"business", I set the Address Book name to "business" as well.)
Even when I enter the first name in the main Contacts folder, it doesn't
fill-in, even after several seconds (30 or more).

First, when I type in part of a name, it does suggest names which I have
recently used, but if I haven't used a name it won't suggest it even if it's
in Contacts or one of the Contacts subfolders,

Bert,

Go to: Tools, Option, Preferences Tab, E-Mail Options, Advanced E-Mail
Aptions and check the box next to "Suggest names when completing To:, Cc:,
and Bcc: fields.

This info. isn't stored in your Contact folder. It is stored in a separate
system file. That file can be opened using an editor called Owtlook found
at www.dcs-imaging.com/products.htm
