Wow, a question that a new boy like me can answer!

Sonja, go to Tools > Options > General and tick "Send and receive messages
at startup". This will automatically download any new mail when you turn on
Windows Mail. Not sure what you mean about folders -- the default folders
(and any new ones that you have created) should all be there whenever you
open up WMail.
