Could someone tell me how to stop Windows XP Home SP2 drom connecting to the
internet automatically as soon as Windows starts please?

After a recent Miccrosoft Update I think, my connection settings have
somehow changed and the Dialup Dialogue Box comes up with the Connect
Automatically Box checked and the cancel button greyed out so I can't stop it
from Connecting on Startup.

Any help with this annoyance greatly appreciated,

Cheers

Keith

Click start--run--type in msconfig---click OK--- in startup tab remove X
from your browser program and e-mail program.

Sorry, it has been over a year since I had dial-up. However I remember there
was a box to check labeled "Do not dial"

I am not actually using dialup, actually I am using Broadband, but the box
that comes up first is still called Dialup

In Internet Explorer (I'm looking at 7 here), choose Tools, Internet
Options, Connections. Choose Never Dial a Connection. Choose Appy, then
OK.

If connections have been added that you know shouldn't be there, remove them
using the Remove button.

It should dial, or prompt you to dial. If not, create a shortcut to the
DUN connectoid and use that to connect. I think you open Network
Connections, right-click the Dial-Up connection, click "Create
shortcut". This should create a dialer icon on the Desktop.
