Automatic deletions from Inbox in Outlook 2007

When I delete a new message (highlight and click X), the deletion process
often just keeps on going, with one or more of the next listed messages
thrown into the Junkmail folder. I have to keep fishing them back into the
Inbox. Any known cure?
Thanks,
Allan

There's simply no way in Outlook to click the Delete button and have it move
messages to the Junk E-mail folder. What are you not stating?

That's exactly what has been happening, and I found out why (helped by an HP
troubleshooter). The level of junk-mail protection had been selected at the
highest (a friend set up my email account for me when my new computer was
delivered)and the program was throwing anything that came into the inbox not
on my Safelist into the Junk folder. However, what surprises me, and which I
don't understand is, why did the mail get into the Inbox to begin with? I was
under the impression that it would go directly into the Junk folder...

First, this doesn't agree at all with what you said before, that clicking
Delete on a message moves it to the Junk E-mail folder. Second, Outlook has
never (and does not now) automatically place addresses on received messages
into the Safe Sender list.

I can't explain what you saw, but I suspect what you saw is not what you
described. Anyway, it's moot now, since you have it working as you want.

Thank you,
Allan

P.S I am not requesting to be notified of any reply, should you find some
reason to make one.

I'll respond to messages where I believe I know the answer. You're free to
disregard them.
