When I sign on to my outlook and my inbox appears, and an email is
highlighted, instead of being marked read after 5 seconds, it completely
deletes it and it does not go to my trash can and I am not sure where it
goes. I do not even get a chance to read it and it will delete all of my
emails.

Please tell me how to take this setting off or what I can do to fix it.

I am using an older version of Outlook, I think 2000, but any information
would be helpful.

Ensure you are using the Messages view and not Unread Messages.

unsolicited mail sent to my personal account will be deleted without
reading.
