we have one user that has the following problem. When he works in excel
he gets automatic copies of the file with names like: ED7E2F00,
92496F00 or 44411F00.

Anyone got an idea, i tried google but didn't find a solution.

One possibility:
When excel opens a file it creates a copy of the file and works on that
copy. this is given a random name such as you show. when you then save the
file, the original is deleted and the copy renamed. If the renaming is
unsuccessful, then you get the problem you describe.
