Hi,

I need a programming in excel 2003 or 2007 as follows.

If i give a path of any other excel file with sheet name in that excel file,
I just need to count total no. of non empty rows in that given sheet.

Also, if i need any specific word to search in the particular column of that
sheet, i need the row count that contains the given search word.

Can anyone give the coding for the same in the following way.

1. Coding to click and select any excel file.
2. Coding to select the sheet from the above selected excel file.
3. Automatic count of non empty rows in the above selected sheet.
4. A search option for giving any words to search in a particular column.
5. Row count result in the selected sheet of the workbook for the searched
content.

Thanks in advance

Regards
chandra

chandra - you'll get all the samples & examples you want if you

search newsgroup "click and select any excel file"
search newsgroup "select the sheet"
search newsgroup "Automatic count of non empty rows"
search newsgroup "column search"
search newsgroup "Row count result searched area"

then you can put it all together & try it, then come back here & get
help with what's wrong.
or, somebody can write it all for you, if they have the time.......

"please help me with this code"
versus
"please write this code for me"

an added plus is that if you learn to write it yourself (to some
extent) you might be able to fix it if it ever starts messing up.

here's a start:
directory listing in listbox

or

excel macro to prompt user to select required file
