Automatic Connection to Wireless Network

I have an XP laptop with built in LinkSys wireless hardware. My connection
to the LinkSys router works fine, but it will not connect automatically on
startup, although that feature is 'enabled' in the network properties.

Is there some trick to making this 'stick' so that the laptop will always
hook up to the router on a cold start?
