Hello,
I have an issue with the recent Windows Automated Update disabling my ATI
All-In-Wonder video capture card in Windows XP. Then when I reload the ATI
software, the card works until the next Automated Udate disables it again.
I have temporarily deactivated the Automated Update feature due to this
problem.
After the update, I get the error message:
-------------------------------------------------------------------
"The TV player failed to initialize the video
DirectX components are not installed properly"
--------------------------------------------------------------------
I have DirectX 9.0 installed, so that is not an issue.
Does anyone know how to permanently amend the Windows Automated Update to
allow use of my ATI All-In-Wonder card?
I would like to continue the updates, but also need use of my ATI card.
Thank you,

NEVER, EVER, EVER get device driver updates
from Microsoft. ONLY get them from the mgfr.
of your hardware.

You can see why from your bad experience.

Set AutoUpdates to INFORM but NOT DOWNLOAD so
you can choose what to install.

Thanks V Green,
I have now set AutoUpdates to "inform but not download" per your instruction.
I appreciate the info!
