Hi
i need some ideas/suggestion on a little situation: My day start out by
going down into my basement and pushing the power switch on my Win2000
workstation (this is used primarily for listening to my favorite radio
station which i cannot get on the radio, since i moved) then wait on it to
boot to windows, then click on the Winamp icon and then click on the start
button on Winamp panel and my (internet station) station start playing. That
is really not bad as this is a very fast Pentium4 system that does not take
long to boot.

At that time i am a happy man. But what would make me a lot happier, if i
just go down into the basement and push the power switch and do something in
the meanwhile and then the station starts up playing without any other
interaction from me. I am open to any or all suggestions or ideas to effect
this. and i will see which fits my situation best.

Regards

You could put Winamp in the startup folder but then you'd have to find a
third party app to actually initiate the player. Suggest you check
Winamp website or Google for it.

Getting WinAmp to load on start up play an .m3u playlist is
trivial. You just create a shortcut that runs
[path]\winamp.exe "PathToPlayList\PlayList.m3u"
and stick it in your startup folder.

So try this at a command prompt:
WinAmp "http:\\URL.Of.RadioStation"

If that works at the command line, then automating it from there
is trivial.

If you can't make it work, post a few "radio station" URLs and
I'll take a stab at it.
