Automate data dump, sort, move by groups to other sheet tabs

I do a weekly data dump of department codes (key field) and other collected
data; I then need to sort by department code (easy enough) and then split out
the data by department code to separate sheet tabs; it might even be nice to
name the sheet tabs according to department code, sort of like pivot table
"show pages."

Can someone either send some starting code and/or point me in the right
direction?
