Automate adding Windows XP workstations from workgroup to AD domai

I am in need of the following:

- A way to automate adding a number of Windows XP SP2 workstations from a
workgroup to a newly built Actve Directory domain. I know there are a number
of ways to accomplish this but I'm hoping that there is an integrated way to
do this and the next task.

- More importantly, once these workstations are on the domain, migrate the
existing user's profile to a new one ideally before they log on. The user's
profile names do not match the naming convention their AD accounts will use.
The accounts will be in place prior to adding the workstations to the domain.

I have used ADMT in the past to migrate from one AD domain to another domain
but can I use it or something like it to automate the migration if there is
no domain of any kind from the which the workstations are coming from?

How would this be done should that be the case or with any other
recommendations?

Thank You
