Magnus,

Can't you just use the "Domain name" field in the "Automatic Logon"
component's settings?

The problem is that the domain name is not fixed. It will change from time to time. And I don't know how to change this data on a XPE installation. I know how to do it in Taget desiger.

Magnus,

That sounds scary if the domain name is often changed. I am not a sys.admin
but have not seen in my practice many networks with not-fixed domain names.
I don't think you can do much with the XPe devices if domain names is
changed. You either fix it manually (System-->Network
Identification->Properties->Member of domain field or corresponding registry
value) or you may have a remote management environment (DUA, RDU, etc.) to
push domain name updates to your devices.

You may want to post this question to microsoft.public.windowsxp.general or
microsoft.public.windowsnt.domain to get more siutable solution.

In XP the domain infomation is stored in the registry

System Key:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon]
Value Name: DefaultDomainName
Data Type: REG_SZ (String Value)
Value Data: Domain Name

I don't know if that helps?
