Autolaunching a exe from a USB device

Hello and thanks in advance; I am trying to find information on how to
launch an executable located on a usb disk when the disk is inserted. Is
this possible without doing any installation prior to inserting the drive?
Is there a more appropriate forum to discuss this? I can't seem to find any
information on the topic. Please point me anywhere!
