I have the function automatically completing of addresses turned on in
Outlook. When my company changed our platform, we got some updates in Office.
Now we have Outlook 2003. Before, the autofill worked when typing the first
name of a person, like when typing 'jo ' you got john, not johnson like I get
now. Not everyone in my office have the same problem, some can still get the
autofill on the first name.

Does anyone know if this is possible to change? If it is a setting or if
there is some extra software?

The 'Display as' choice has been changed. You can change the "Last Name,
First Name " preference by changing the setting in the Contacts folder. Look
up 'Last name' in Help for directions or read this:

Nothing that Mary posted applies to the autocompletion cache. To understand
how autocompletion searches and finds entries, read this:

Thankyou Russ, this is exactly what I was looking for! However, it does not
answer my question wether it is possible to change which part of the name the
autocompletion recognizes... In this document it is suggested that if you
want to find John Doe, D does not work but J does. That's what I want! For me
only D works : (
Do you know if it is possible to change this setup?
