I email certain people constantly. I know from past habits that if I begin
to type the "alias" as listed in the properties that Outlook should autofill
the remainder of the email address for me.

Outlook doesn't seem to have any consistency in this feature. It will work
with some people that I am emailing but not others. Is there a process or
option to get this feature to work consistently?

TIA!

You are confusing autocompletion with autoresolution. We have no idea which
of the two features are even available to you. Post your Outlook version and
a more complete question. Outlook is very consistent. Users' understanding
often is not. Read the Help files or another primer:

Russ,

Great article. Yes I had the 2 confused. I am on Outlook 2002 SP 3

I have both the "Suggest names while completing..." and the "Automatic Name
Checking" boxes marked in my outlook options. And now that I understand how
these two functions run behind the scenes, I can begin to use them to my
advantage.

Thanks!!
