When I try to use the Internet Connections module to
clear the autocomplete log, it hangs indefinitely with an
hourglass icon and will not close. This has been constant
for the last month every time I try to use it. I can
click on the X to close the dialogue box and I get a
message that says autocomplete is not responding...some
kind of DLL error, and then I'm prompted to send the
error report to Microsoft. When this happens it will
clear items in the IE address bar, but not other programs
such as the Google search bar. Any suggestions?

Remove your index completely. A new one will be created when your reboot.

Delete/Empty Temporary Internet Cache completely
