hi,

I rebooted my win2k workstation with my removable USB2 drive plugged in,
during boot a message came up about checking and that it would check in X
seconds.
I let it do a check, but when I came to access my drive in windows explorer,
one of the directories is now corrupt (I have had *no* problems with this
drive at all.) There is also a text file (bootex.txt) listing the message
that came up and the result ->

}Checking file system on D:
}The type of the file system is FAT.
}
}
}One of your disks needs to be checked for consistency. You
}may cancel the disk check, but it is strongly recommended
}that you continue.
}Windows will now check the disk.
}Volume Serial Number is 18D9-BD9E
}Errors in file allocation table (FAT) corrected.
}The specified disk appears to be a non-Windows 2000 disk.
}Do you want to continue? (Y/N) No

I didn't give any input on this, I just left it.
Is there any way of getting back the directory that windows has messed up,
trying to be all clever and "fixing" it?
