autocheck program not found - skipping autocheck

One my home machine running XP Pro. I ran a windows
update and it asked me to restart. I did. When it came
back up, it got to the logo screen and then I get an error:

autocheck program not found - skipping autocheck

and the PC autoboots and it does this over and over. What
should I do next??
